From the moderator Jan Mulder:

The Jazz Winds Composers collective is returning to CBM with an evening of new compositions. Jazz Winds is a group of jazz musicians and composers who come from a variety of backgrounds with a vision to experiment with jazz and classical music styles. The wind players alternate between clarinet, and saxophones, while the rhythm section alternates between acoustic and electric modes. Player settings vary from full ensemble and smaller group configurations to individual solos. The result is an eclectic mix of accessible music with a wide appeal.

The March 5 performance features several new originals and arrangements written by members of the group. Special feature for this evening is the inaugural performance of “Sound scapes”, a recently completed 6 movement suite for jazz quintet in which each movement is inspired by a nature sound. Another evening not be missed.

As you know parking opportunities are limited in the neighborhood. Up to now the only possibility was to park along the park on the west side of Cliff Street. A new arrangement is now available as well. CBM visitors can park behind the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Arts Centre which is located approximately 100 meters North of the Community Centre on the north side of the park.  Entrance is off Royal Avenue SW.
