Our second jazz dance night is coming up on March 15. This will be an occasion to dance and swing to the music of the Great American Songbook. As a former Jazz club owner, Rob Young had the opportunity to further fuel his desire to pursue his own musical dreams, and back in 1998 formed the first incarnation of “The Big Beat Band” He has performed throughout Western Canada in configurations ranging from trios up to 18-piece big bands. This dance event will feature the renowned seven piece “Big Beat Band”. Whether you come to dance or just to enjoy the music, an evening with Rob and the Big Beat will make you glad you came.
The “Sinatra style” jazz dance nights have become a very popular event. Last year’s event was a full house. For this event we have therefore created an online reservation system. If you want to make an advanced reservation for this evening, then use the link shown above.
Parking: As you know parking opportunities are limited in the neighbourhood. Up to now the only possibility was to park along the park on the west side of Cliff Street. A new arrangement is now available as well. CBM visitors can park behind the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Arts Centre which is located approximately 100 meters North of the Community Centre on the north side of the park. Entrance is off Royal Avenue S.W.
