FÊTE D’HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY – Saturday, November 2, 2013

INVITATION

FANTÔMES DE ROULEAUVILLE/MISSION PHANTOMS

FÊTE D’HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY 2013

The Bureau de visibilité de Calgary opens its virtual doors on November 2, 2013 with a first annual FUNdraising event right in the heart of our City!

Rouleauville, now known as the Mission District, is the historic Francophone district and cradle of Calgary,” explains Suzanne de Courville Nicol, founding chair of the BVC.  “This first annual FUNdraising event is launched in partnership with the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Community Association with whom our community has had the pleasure of organizing a number of special events, since the 2012 Calgary’s Stampede Centennial,” she added.

The Bureau de visibilité de Calgary‘s mission, as the name indicates, is to increase and maintain visibility and recognition of Calgary’s Francophone and Francophile citizens and communities.  Exciting projects planned to celebrate Calgary’s Francophone roots and heritage will be unveiled at the November 2nd event.

“We are ‘the new kids on the block !” said Suzanne “Established as a non profit organization since May 2013, we are working together with Bob Lang, President of the Cliff Bungalow-Mission Community Association (CBMCA); Marlene Lanz, President, Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 and Calgary’s long established francophone organizations such as the Association canadienne française de l’Alberta (ACFA) Calgary chapter and the Société franco-canadienne de Calgary (SFCC).  Our goal is to keep the story of Rouleauville in the limelight, foster friendship and dialogue and strengthen ties and understanding between French and English speaking Calgarians.” explained de Courville Nicol the long-time volunteer history-hound and Francophone community advocate.

“We are not government funded and have many important history-related projects to complete, therefore, FUNdraising is the order of the day.” she added.

What better place and timing than to celebrate Calgary’s Francophone ancestors, with this first annual joint-community Halloween costume party focused on the Phantoms of Rouleauville!
