Come join Birgit Schinke for Gentle Yin Inspired Yoga starting April 1 from 7:00-9:00 PM and every second Monday until June 24. Birgit is a graduate of Shanti Yoga in Nelson, BC and has been a fitness leader, wellness buff and dance enthusiast for many years. She is a Registered Clinical Counselor also using some yogic techniques in her practise. These classes suit people new to yoga (or movement), seniors, people needing to relax, or those recovering from injuries. Each class contains a breathing practise (pranayama), full relaxation (shavasana), yin inspired asanas, as well as guided meditations. Those not wanting to use the floor can use chairs; modifications can be provided. The community centre does not provide yoga mats or props (strap, blocks, bolster) so please bring your own. A long scarf can be used instead of a strap and a very thick towel can be used instead of a bolster. She will have some blocks on hand to show you how they are used, and you can then purchase if wanted. All donations for this class go to the community centre.
