Environment Committee

The main goal of the Environment Committee, or "Green Team" as it is also known, is to protect and enhance the green spaces in the neighbourhood. We also work to improve the quality of life for community members by encouraging the adoption of a more sustainable lifestyle. Each month, committee members meet to discuss progress on the activities associated with these goals.

The Environment Committee has a number of projects for 2010, including:

• participate in the annual Elbow river clean-up
• participate in the Eco-footprint conference
• educate the public and students at local schools on environmental issues
• support the community garden and plan for possible expansion
• support the completion of the 26 Ave promenade project
• organize a recycling depot for the community
• celebrate Earth day!
